Test Procedure
The test cells and battery packs are secured to the test device with rigid supports supporting all mounting surfaces of each test battery pack.
Each cell and battery pack is subjected to a half sine wave with a maximum acceleration of 150gn and a pulse duration of 6ms.
Each cell or battery pack is subjected to three shocks in the positive direction of the three perpendicular cell or battery pack mounting directions, followed by three shocks in the opposite direction, for a total of 18 shocks.
However, large cells and large battery packs are subjected to half sine waves with a maximum acceleration of 50gn and a pulse duration of 11ms. Each cell or battery pack is subjected to three shocks in the positive direction of the three perpendicular battery mounting directions, followed by three shocks in the opposite direction, for a total of 18 shocks.
